Local Folks Co. began in early 2022 as a dream that my husband and I brainstormed together in the comfort of our woodstove and a pot of chili. As a maker, I have always valued handmade goods and the art of living a slow and simple life. My husband is also someone who greatly appreciates simple living, working hard to build a life rooted in family tradition and the homesteading ways of those who came before us. We believe in the importance of community and fostering the ways of life for those that work by hand to make a living. With this in mind, Local Folks Co. was created with the intention of curating a retail space for intentional consumerism, aiming to give back to the local community and to support the livelihoods of artists and makers of North Carolina.
